Looks like new mommy Kourtney Kardashian was on the hot spot last week. She got a lot of flak for wearing a dress with a really, really, utterly, low neckline that made her boobs almost spill out. The reality TV star admitted soon after that she was indeed showing a little too much cleave for her new mommy style.

Now let’s focus on Kourtney’s maxi dress. What do you think? Honestly I’m not a fan of chevron printed dresses. It has the undesirable effect of making the hips look wider, so certain body types, like a pear, cannot wear it.
If the lines are bold and striking, all the more that it should be avoided, especially by a petite, because it tends to overwhelm. On Kourtney however, it doesn’t look as bad and I think I know why.
First, the colors are quite subtle, soft, and not as striking which makes the thick lines less vivid and less overwhelming.
Second, after looking through several pictures of Kourtney to decipher her body type, she does not seem to have the signature Kardashian hips (wide hips and big bootie). It looks like her hips are slightly (just slightly) narrower than her boobs, so the chevron printed maxi doesn’t look as bad as it only balanced out the two.
And third, she has a purse covering one side and her hand covering the other, and that makes it really hard to tell if there is any flaw (such as wide hips), if one does exist.
So other than the overly exposed cleavage, Kourtney gets a passing grade for this one. I even love the booties she paired it with.
