I’m in an edgy romantic mood. I guess it has something to do with the rain, my sudden craving for indie films, and the usual urge to go shopping. Maybe that’s why I found this particular sarong gown especially striking.
Sarong Gown in Fuschia, $795, Halston Heritage, Revolve Clothing
It reminds me of the saris or sarong gowns used in the filmĀ Rachel Getting Married which starred Anne Hathaway in a chilling, Oscar-nominated performance. This film featured one of the best weddings I have ever seen on screen.

While it is in a completely different league as say My Best Friend’s Wedding, this film’s ceremony has the same aspects of maddening crowds, stylish dresses, and hard core love.

I actually love Anne Hathaway’s sari more than Rosemarie DeWitt’s because of the color and that slight peek of the midriff. This Halston Heritage find also projects the same concept, including the signature one-shoulder strap.
And while this gown is devoid of pattern, it makes up for it with its striking fuschia color. This dress is also available in black. Keep the exotic style alive by styling with flat sandals and bangle stacks. Also, Anne Hathaway wore it best with a sleek, pulled back ‘do.
